My brother was scammed out of about 3 thousand dollars that the bank now tells him he has to pay back. After he realized it was a Nigerian scam he contacted the police and the FBI because he didn't know what to do. Any advice out there? Is he responsible for the entire amount even though the bank made money available on a fraudulent check? Please let me know, anyone, if you have any info. He is worried about his credit because he doesn't have the money to pay back the bank and they told him they would ruin his credit. He is young- early 20's and thought he was getting an amazing 'deal' on this junk car he was trying to sell.
Thank you in advance for any help you may offer.
